We value diversity and aim to foster an inclusive work culture where everyone’s contributions and professional development matter.<br><br><b>The Position</b><br>The Service Coordinator will be a part our rural program that provides supports for adults with intellectual disabilities. The Service Coordinator will guarantee the availability of sufficient staffing and resources for the smooth execution of program activities, as well as integrate and advance supported individual’s files and support plans. This multifaceted role involves administrative tasks such as coaching, supervising, and guiding Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), in addition to providing direct assistance and case management for individuals receiving support.&nbsp;<br><br><b>What you will do</b><br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Coordinate scheduling for program activities and Direct Support Professionals, reviewing shift reports and approving timesheets.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Anticipate decreased staffing levels or increased program needs, notifying the Program Manager and participating in the hiring process to fill needs.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Complete and review various reports and documentation, which may include support profiles, Circle of Care Plans, Incident Reports, monthly reports, invoices, leases, housing benefits, hamper applications, etc.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Handle financial matters both related to individuals receiving supports and employees, which may include financial plans, budgeting, authorizing program spending, and vehicle mileage submissions.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Ensure compliance with, and gathering necessary feedback on, all legal and organizational requirements, policies, and standards.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Help create, build, and maintain valued social roles for individuals receiving support.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Participate in crisis support interventions, sending off incident reports in a timely manner, and responding effectively to individuals receiving support’s needs during emergencies.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Flag concerns related to individuals receiving supports in shift reports and initiate appropriate action, collaborating with the team to address challenges proactively.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Collaborate with Coordinators, Managers, and external stakeholders, such as CSWs to coordinate and implement care and support plans, facilitating effective teamwork and communication.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Attend meetings and appointments as necessary for individual’s support, including CLPS, Court, Behavioural Specialists, CFS and team meetings.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Organize team meetings and frequent one-on-one meetings with individuals receiving support to review progress, address concerns, and plan next steps.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Provide direct support shift coverage when needed to support program activities, or as is required to meet funding mandates.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Ensure basic needs of individuals receiving supports are met, including housing arrangements, by coordinating with relevant agencies and service providers.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Provide safe and culturally relevant supports, ensuring that the supports offered respects and aligns with the values, traditions, and needs of the individual.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Meet with Direct Support Professionals bi-weekly for 1:1 meeting, coaching and goals alignment, and hold team meetings with the DSP team.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Hold direct reports accountable to achieve organizational goals, while also ensuring each direct report understands their responsibilities, how their work aligns with organizational goals and ensuring cultural relevancy is considered in all aspects of their support.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Conduct performance management activities, including performance monitoring, coaching, and the preparation of performance appraisals as required.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Other duties as assigned.<br><br><b>Qualifications</b><br><br><b>Required</b><br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Three years or more of post-secondary education in a related social services field or the equivalent in work experience. Suitable combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Grade 12 or equivalency.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build working relationships, manage conflict, and provide direction.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate in a clear and effective manner.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Excellent written communication skills with the ability to draft correspondence in a clear and effective manner.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Strong desire to work with individuals who live with intellectual disabilities.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Excellent critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Demonstrate cultural competence and understanding of diversity, inclusivity, and equity issues. The Assistant Program Manager oversees elements of hiring, financials, information maintenance, and Coordinator support, to ensure that the program continues to run smoothly and efficiently.&nbsp;<br></p><p><b>What you will do</b><br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Provide Program Coordinator support, including providing direct supervision and coaching to established Coordinators, and completing general orientation and training with new Coordinators.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Provide leadership, guidance, and support to program staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting professional development.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Cultivate a healthy workplace culture within the program by fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Coordinate team meetings and collaborate with Case Management, HR, Finance, and Operations departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of supports.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Conduct performance management activities, including performance monitoring, coaching, and the preparation of performance appraisals as required.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Participate in the hiring process, attending interviews when Coordinators are unavailable, consulting with Coordinators and Human Resources to ensure that hiring needs are met and the staff in place match the funding allotments of the program.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Report and submit all necessary documentation related to their team to Payroll and HR following IJC Procedures.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Oversee elements of program funding, i.e. updating, editing, and maintaining current resources in the program funding sheets, as well as examining and responding to questions about the payroll summary.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Approve some program expenses, including mileage and invoices up to $500.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Manage Sharepoint access for employees and input accurate, up-to-date information on the Program Sharepoint Site, in collaboration with IT and Case Management.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Maintain and establish program facilities as necessary for the program including researching and scheduling repairs, facilitating Residential Care Licensing reviews, establishing new residential homes, and ensuring that necessary cheque requisitions are sent on time.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Other duties as assigned.<br><br><b>Qualifications</b><br><br><b>Required&nbsp;</b><br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Post-secondary education in a related social services field or the equivalent in work experience. These programs support people with intellectual disabilities, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), and those who are currently, or have been previously, incarcerated. We value diversity and aim to foster an inclusive work culture where everyone’s contributions and professional development matter.</p><p><b>The Position</b></p><p>The&nbsp;Direct Support Professional (DSP) works directly with adults who have intellectual, developmental, and sometimes physical disabilities. Their role involves providing assistance with daily activities such as medication management, meal preparation, and financial planning. DSPs also support individuals in accessing community resources, engaging in social and recreational activities, and developing life skills. Additionally, DSPs play a crucial role in promoting the individual's rights, dignity, and personal goals, helping them navigate challenges and advocating for their needs</p><p><b>What you will do</b><br><br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Assist individuals with disabilities in their daily activities, including cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, personal care, transferring and using assistive devices.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Support individuals with disabilities in making informed choices about their personal care, activities, and goals.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Support individuals with disabilities in participating in community events, social activities, cultural events and recreational programs, including transporting individuals to these events.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Maintain accurate, timely, records of services provided, individual progress, and any incident using the correct methods.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Advocate for the rights, dignity, and choices of individuals with intellectual disabilities.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Implement and follow behavioral support plans, safety plans, harm reduction and crisis intervention strategies as necessary, while supporting profiles and Circle of Care Plan.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with other support workers, supervisors, family members and external professionals.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Build a positive working relationship with supported individuals, colleagues, and all internal and external stakeholders.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Administer medication as per prescribed schedules and document medication administration.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Encourage, support, and address the health and safety of supported individuals.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Other duties as assigned.<br><br><b>Required Qualifications</b><br><br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; High school diploma or equivalent with ability to participate in post-secondary education courses as required.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate in a clear and effective manner.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Excellent written communication skills with the ability to draft correspondence in a clear and effective manner.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build professional working relationships with supported individuals.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Ability to maintain confidentiality, including adhering to PHIA and FIPPA.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Basic level computer skills, including Microsoft Office.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Strong desire to work with people living with intellectual disabilities.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Demonstrate cultural competence and understanding of diversity, inclusivity, and equity issues. This includes respecting and valuing different cultural backgrounds, beliefs, and identities to ensure equitable access to services for all clients.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Ability to assess risk and set safe &amp; appropriate boundaries.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Ability to handle work-related stress.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Ability to exercise patience and flexibility.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Willingness to carry staff phone on shift.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Participation in training opportunities and willingness to learn and adapt to new processes or procedures.<br><br><b>Assets</b><br><br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Experience working in Social Services field.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Education in Social Services or another relevant field.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Understanding of the issues and challenges associated with intellectual disabilities and FASD.<br>•&nbsp; &nbsp; Previous experience working with individual with disabilities.<br><br><b>Conditions of Employment</b></p><p>•&nbsp; &nbsp; The successful applicant must maintain legal eligibility to work in Canada.
